Loreal Revitalift Moisture Blur

There has been several Loreal Revitalift Blur products come out lately. The oil free one, the regular one and now the moisture blur.
Here is what Loreal has to say:
-a miraculous anti-aging moisturizer with Opti-Blur that diffuses light for a soft focus blurring effect while providing all day hydration.
-instantly transforms skin upon contact to diminish fine lines, wrinkles and pores to create a seamless smooth skin surface.
-infused with Revitalift's proven anti-aging ingredient Pro-Retinol A to visibly reduce wrinkles and help improve skins firmness and elasticity over time.

I have not used it long enough to see the long term benefits, however; I love how it feels on my skin and it actually works well as a primer. It definitely moisturizes without being greasy and I can see visible results (ie: blurring) when I use it under my makeup. Primer has become a necessary and useful part of my makeup routine and this has been in my routine.

I have been impressed with Loreal products for a long time and will continue to use them because they are relatively inexpensive and work just as well as high end brands. This was actually purchased at WalMart and yes WalMart has come a long way in their beauty department!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and hope you get information that you need to make your makeup routine easy and fun! Sherry

Compact makeup love

Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Cream makeup

I seriously love compact makeup. It is easy to carry in my makeup bag, easy to touch up and overall is moisturizing. This compact is beautiful. The compact is sturdy, pretty with its silver and gold tone case and I purchased the shade Gentle Beige #2. It has 2 compartments, one with the cream makeup and the other with an area with a sponge applicator. When I swatched it, it was creamy and blended really well. I may not have purchased the liquid foundations but because the cream compact is right up my alley, I wanted to have this in my makeup arsenal. I also found that when I use the compact type foundation, my makeup application saves a lot of time as well.

It is available at Nordstrom.com, Sephora.com and Dillards.com. It retails for $36.50 for .8oz.

ElizabethArden.com is worth a perusal and please let me know your thoughts! I have also found they are very generous with samples as they know if you try something you are likely to buy it in the future.

Are you like me and love the makeup compacts that make it so easy to use on the run? I sincerely hope you are having a wonderful day and week and having fun with your unique expression of self with makeup! Sherry

ROC Multi Correxion 5 in 1 Perfecting Cream

I love primers, I don't put on makeup without them because as an over 40 woman my skin needs all the help it can get for blurring, smoothing and correcting! I have a variety of them in my daily rotation and have some hits and misses. I am always on the lookout for new ones. As I was reading through blogs that I visit daily, I saw this product on the BeautyProfessor blog and had to go get this and try it out. ROC has some awesome skincare products that I use and love. They are chock full of great ingredients and a high level of retinol for an over the counter line.

ROC says about its 5 in 1 Perfecting Cream:
-Fights lines and wrinkles
-Helps improve the appearance of dark spots
-Smooths uneven texture
-Brightens skin tone
-Moisturizes instantly

Over time:
-In just 2 weeks , smoothes the appearance of fine lines and improves overall complexion

It has an SPF of 25 which is awesome for a primer/sheer base option.

As you can see on my hand, the cream is light and goes on sheer. My hand has less redness and less shiny where its blended on the right side of the picture. It has no fragrance to speak of and feels light on my skin. I tried it on my bare clean face and it felt light airy and blended well, with just enough color to cover the sunspots on my face. I look forward to using this before my makeup in the morning and will see how it lasts on a 12 hour shift at work!

Has anybody used ROC skincare? What do you think of this new skin perfector? Ladies let me know your thoughts and thank you for stopping by the blog! Sherry

Bronzer Brightens My winter slump

L-R:
Guerlain 4 Seasons Blonde
Lorac Tantalizer Bronzer
Hourglass Waterproof Bronzer

Old man winter has kicked my butt this year and I am looking forward to nicer temperatures and sunny days! The older I get the more I see sallowness in my skin and no great definition on my face. I have used bronzers off and on for a long time and noticed that I was using them in the wrong colors and way. I did a lot of research online, watched Youtube videos. I found that matte bronzers like Hourglass really work well for defining my cheekbones and jaw line. The Lorac has a small amount of shimmer that really makes my face look lit up and soft. The Guerlain Four Seasons gives me several tones to play with and is pure luxury to use.

I have learned how to place the bronzer on my face, remembering to make a swipe down my neck to keep from having that glaringly obvious white neck and along the jaw line to define. I know to stay away from really orange looking ones as they make me look sickly and too dark as I look like I have a dirty face! Sonia Kashuk also has a great cream bronzer that goes on smoothly and looks really natural.

I finish with putting a pop of color on the apples of my cheek and I almost feel like summer!!! Bronzer is a multifaceted and great product to really make a difference when its gray and nasty out. It makes me smile bigger and feel a little more bouncy as I go about my day.

How do you feel about bronzer and have you mastered the art of applying? I am sure all of my beautiful readers want winter to go away and leave us to play in the sun. Have a great week and have fun! Thanks for stopping by the blog :) Sherry

Lancome Skincare

Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate
Dreamtone Ultimate Dark Spot Corrector #2

I have been using this duo for almost 3 months every morning and evening. Lancôme says this about the products:

Genifique: "One serum so powerful it creates more radiant and smoother skin that you can see and feel. First results in 7 days. Acts on 10 key signs of youth day and night. This innovative formula, featuring Genifique's powerful complex with added biotechnology-derived ingredient is incredible to the touch."

Dreamtone:"next generation of spot correctors. Immediately: 74% saw glowing skin. 7days: 70% saw more even skin tone. 4 weeks: 69% saw appearance of dark spots reduced. 8 weeks: 78% saw color imperfections reduced. Imperfections like redness, sallowness and acne marks are visibly reduced."

I can tell you this, my skin was smoother and brighter within 2 weeks time. I have a large area on my left cheek/chin that is sun damaged and quite dark. I noticed minimal lightening of this area however overall my face was brighter, less red and blotchy and for the first time in a long time! I actually wore minimal base coverage other than concealer and powder for the first time at the beginning of this month and have continued to wear minimal makeup all month. I am so excited because these actually made me feel better about my skin and it sure was nice to take less time to get ready in the morning with a pared down makeup routine.

Both products are silky smooth and melt into the skin quite rapidly for me and they both have minimal fragrance and that dissipates rapidly. The Genifique is first as its a serum and the Dreamtone is a creamier serum with a pearlescent pink color that brightens my face. I will definitely repurchase these after I finish testing out some new skincare I have. You can get the set of these from Dillards.com, Lancôme-usa.com. They are $135 for the both of them and in my opinion well worth the money.

Have you used either of these? What do you think of Lancôme skincare? Inquiring minds want to know! Sherry

A little about me......

Howdy ya'll!! I have had a few inquiring minds want to know a little about me and here are the key highlights that makes up Sherry :).

My very first Moto jacket that I was able to snag at H&M. I love that tough vibe with the leather and zippers along with a pretty purple pop of color. My husband loved it on me and asked why I hadn't got one before :) because I live in scrubs!!!

I have been married 18 years in August of this year (divorce is not an option but murder has come to mind LOL)
I have 3 sons, 22, 24 and 26 and 2 stepchildren 21 and 12 (yeah don't ask it gets complicated:) It's kind of the his and her blended family!
I have been a nurse 20 years, ER for most of it, the last 5 years in hospice crises care nursing. I LOVE being a nurse.
I was born in Texas but have lived in South America for almost 4 years when I was a teenager, I still speak Spanish a lot at work.
Purple is the best color in the whole wide world and makes me smile.
Reading is an awesome addiction I have, I read a couple of books a week and have since I got my first library card at age 6.
Jewelry making and journaling along with scrapbooking are relaxing hobbies that I try to find time to do on a regular basis.

My blog was an expression of conversations I was having with my girlfriends and my nurse cohorts developing over a year and I jumped in and did it and love every minute of blogging. What better way to get to know some awesome ladies and to learn about new products, techniques and great skincare advice? Although that has not contributed to my unnecessary spending ban HA!

I didn't wear makeup for a long time when I was younger because I was such a tomboy and running with 3 sons and for some reason at age 36 I became girly girl and loved every dang thing about makeup and skincare and perfume and I went NUTS I tell ya! It's been a fun ride though and I love every minute of this journey.

Let me tell ya ladies, ya'll have been so much fun to blog for and I can't say thank you enough for following me on Bloglovin. Keep checking in as I have more stuff to show and tell in the very near future. Would love to hear from you, have a great weekend! Sherry

Weekend Pampering with GlamGlow YouthMud Tinglexfoliant Treatment

Don't you love the mask face picture? LOL What we do in the name of our blogs :)

This has been a super exhausting work in my nursing world and I decided that this weekend would be replete with the most laid back and yeppers selfish kind of me time. Consistent with my continuing skincare journey and taking steps to prevent, protect and nourish I decided that it was time for a good mask! I had a couple of great sample sizes of the GlamGlow YouthMud mask I got from Sephora. They are quite generous in size and considering the full jar of these are quite pricey, the samples will last for at least a couple of months.

First let me tell you that applying this mask is kind of freaky feeling. It contains what feels like leaves and twigs and mud of course! It is not a smooth mask but as you can tell by the picture it goes on nice and green and wet. Then it starts to dry and gets light green and really tight. Even though it says Tinglexfoliate in the name it didn't tingle at all for me and the latter part of the name is true in that when you wash this mask off the bits and pieces in the mask do have an exfoliating effect.

This product is "high in volcanic ash, super anti-oxidants and minerals" according to their website. This would be why it is an interesting texture when applied!

Let me tell you ladies, this stuff made my face soft and a brighter immediately. It did dry my skin out quite a bit, but my skincare that includes a serum and a good moisturizer took care of that really well! All in all I really like this mask, I tend to use moisturizing masks more especially during the winter however; there is always a need for my face to get a good deep vacuum once in awhile and this does it well.

I have heard that there is a new GlamGlow Moisturizing mask and I need to look into that as well. You can get this at Sephora.com and Glamglowmud.com. I know that Sephora has a good deal when they have the buy the bag with 5 sample products and this is how I got the generous size tubes.

Have you used the GlamGlow Mud masks? Love the feedback and would love to hear from you! Thanks for stopping by the blog, Sherry!

The nude lip trend

Maybelline ColorSensational The Buffs Collection in #950 Untainted Spice
Avail Local drugstores, Walmart, Ulta

I have never been a fan of nude lips because my lips are quite pigmented on their own. That and I am a sucker for colors of all kinds and all types. Yes my lips are never far from a lippie of some kind! I was looking at the colors in the store of the new Maybelline The Buffs Collection and the 2 darker ones at the far end of the spectrum were right up my alley and probably as light as I go on my lips. They are unscented, slide nicely onto the lips and 2 swipes are sufficient for a good color as seen in the second picture with the lipstick on. They have about a 4 hour wear time on me, don't dry out my lips and are nice overall.

Check out Maybelline.com as they have come up with some beautiful and affordable makeup and new colors that make me happy I am a girl and get to play with makeup!!

Thanks for stopping by and let me know what are your favorite nude lippies??? Have a blast being a girl :) Sherry

Blue Plasma

As many of you know the only resolution I made was to have an awesome skincare routine and take really really good care of my skin. I have found and it is well known that good skin is the basis for great makeup application. It also just makes me feel really good when I can go barefaced with minimal embarrassment! I remember back in my 20s and 30s that I used to go to bed without washing off my makeup and I would wake up with raccoon eyes and pimples from the makeup clogging my skin. Although I am blessed genetically with pretty skin (thanks MOM) I have learned how to protect, prevent and correct today. Sunscreen is the number one basic in my arsenal. Always washing my face before bedtime is second (and has become so fun because the skincare routine makes a huge difference).

The closer I am to 50 my skincare has gotten better and more focused with prime products that work really well and help in the long run. I have been using at home peels and masks and the difference in how my skin feels and the brightness is smile inducing! Of course I have been using acids in various forms to help move the dead scaly skin away and let the fresh skin come through. I researched them and tried different brands and strengths with differing results.

Then I found Dr. Perricone' Blue Plasma. It is in a lovely frosted glass bottle with a dropper and the liquid is the prettiest blue. Here's what Dr. Perricone has to say:

A unique, non-acidic daily peel designed to deliver all the benefits of a traditional peel without redness or irritation. This cutting edge liquid treatment works with Bio-specific Peeling to attack only dead skin cells, Micro-extraction to lift surface debris, unclogging and purifying the skin of build-up and finally Hydro-fusion to rebalance skin's hydration with enriched water. No rinsing needed. Apply and follow with your daily skincare regimen.

BENEFITS
- Resurfaces and unveils new skin.
- Achieves luxurious luminosity & glow.
- Smoothes, hydrates and plumps lines & wrinkles.

CONSUMER STUDY RESULTS
After 4 weeks of use:
- 90% agreed their skin was visibly more luminous after just one application.
- 87% agreed they preferred this treatment to a chemical peel or exfoliating scrub and this product gave them professional results.
- 82% agreed this is the best resurfacing treatment that they have ever used.
- 87% agreed their skin felt like it has been replaced with “new skin” after 4 weeks of use.

I noticed after using this for a week that my skin is noticeably brighter and smoother. It doesn't burn or "feel" like it's doing anything but it is! It takes just a couple of drops to cover my face and because it is so expensive ($95) I use it sparingly. You can get it from Perriconemd.com, Sephora.com.

Have you tried any of Dr. Perricone's products? What do you think about peels and acid products? Please share your experiences with me, would love to know :). Have a blessed day, Sherry

Dior Addict Lip Maximizer

Winter, menopause, smoking for years and aging has taken a toll on my lips. When I get ready in the morning I will put on a balm or lip enhancer to moisturize and plump my lips for the day. I put it on first along with my eye cream to soak in and help for when I put on my full face. I have used Too Faced Lip Injection, Soap and Glory lip plumper and these work well to prepare my lips.

I saw this Dior in the Nordstrom.com store and because I have never purchased Dior makeup before wasn't certain about putting out the hefty penny for this. I asked questions of the saleslady and she was very informative and thorough. It retails for $32 and that is a LOT for a lip plumper. But it's not just a lip plumper, read on as to what Dior has to say:

-As an intensive treatment use on its own for a 15 day treatment. Apply every morning or evening before makeup.
-Lips that look transformed in just 15 days. Your lips feel rehydrated and restructured. Your lip contour is redefined day after day for a mouth that looks plumped up and ultra sexy.
-It's unique collagen enriched formula leaves your lips looking plump up in an instant.

It feels so luxurious when I put it on with the doe foot applicator and it isn't very sticky. There is no scent to speak of and it looks pinkish in the tube but goes on clear. Thus it can be worn over any lip color you wish. The packaging is pure Dior and looks high end as well as feels that way as well. It is not an embarrassment to pull it out to reapply LOL!

I will definitely do a follow up post after 15 days of use to let you know how the intensive treatment part works.

Would you spend this much money on a lip plumper? Take some time and have a beautiful week. Sherry

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm/Fall update #lipstickmakesmesmile

#115 Whimsical Fantaste
#120 Whimsical Exuberant

Totally shopped my stash and out these came because they are perfect for this time of the year! Great berry and mauve colors are perfect and am loving rediscovering these!!!

Anyone who has read my blog knows that I am a lipstick junkie. Although I have seen these for some time and have so many lippie products to last until my last breath, I couldn't resist getting a couple of these. Primarily I love these because crayon type lippies are easy to carry, don't need a mirror and are just really fun!

I like bright cheery colors and these 2 are just that. I read somewhere (can't recall where) that a pink lip helps to brighten and make a mature face younger. I am not THAT old LOL but won't pass up the opportunity to lighten and make my face more youthful. These glide on smoothly, are fairly moisturizing and a couple of swipes give a beautiful pop of color. Unfortunately on me they don't last very long and I need to reapply fairly often.

They are available lots of places, I purchased mine at Walgreens. They also have them in matte, yet matte lips for me are a no no. My lips look old, dried out and feel weird :). If I do wear a matte I tend to put a pretty clear gloss over them which totally takes away the whole matte idea!

I do like these better than the Revlon Just Bitten sticks that came out several years ago.

Have you tried these? How do they hold up for you? Leave me a comment and thanks for stopping by my blog! Sherry

Giorgio Armani Maestro

The generous samples that I received from the Armani counter for the Luminous Silk and the Maestro makeups stole my face and heart. In an earlier post I told you that I purchased the Luminous Silk in shade 5.25 and absolutely adore it. I have gotten lots of compliments and that is worth every penny of the $62 I spent. Once I finished the Luminous Silk sample, I went to the Maestro sample. Again, total love and lots of compliments. Back to the Armani counter I went and they were out of the liquid foundation. So I purchased the Maestro Fusion makeup compact and found out that it has an SPF 29 whereas Luminous Silk doesn't have SPF. They didn't have shade 5.25 so I went up to 5.5 and it actually matched pretty well. The compact is pure Armani with the magnetic closure, pretty solid black compact and double layer. Top layer has the silky foundation and the bottom layer has a small brush. I prefer to use a sponge or my fingers so the brush will be used for setting powder. Maestro was a bit more expensive at $65. I was happy to have the compact as they are so portable and no mess to apply.

Previously I had purchased Armani Fluid Sheers in #4 and #2, they were my first Armani purchases and although pricey, I found that Armani was a very well made and talked about product line. I did lots of research as to how to use them and what the best colors were for what I wanted to use them for. They are beautiful additions to my daily makeup routine!

I purchased these at NeimanMarcus.com. The third time I went to their counter I was treated quite condescendingly and sent an email to the PR at Neiman Marcus. Just because I may not "look" like the wealthy people who shop there doesn't mean my money isn't as good and spends just as well. I had asked for a sample of the Armani primer to see if I would like it and possibly purchase it. Not only did the salesman look at me askance, he gave me such a small squirt of the primer that I was unable to use it to see if it worked. I am not out for samples however, the samples I got before, they prompted me to purchase the products I use now and love. Very disappointing to be treated that way especially after giving him $69 cash!

All in all Armani products are awesome and I love using them and I will tell my friends and family about them!

Do you give out your hard earned money for high end products? What do you think about Armani products? Do let me know about your experiences with this brand and the high end department stores. Have a blessed week and have fun! Sherry

I was nominated by the beautiful Kelly at beautyhuddle.blogpost.com
and am very grateful to get this nomination for up and coming new blogs! Stay tuned for further answers and follow up :)

Last Thursday, a freak weather pattern hit us with snow and ice. I was only a mile from home and hit black ice and had an accident. Other than the seatbelt bruise and the steering wheel pattern on my chest, I am so grateful it was not as serious as it could have been and that the best thing was I didn't hit anyone else! I am grateful for each of you following and commenting and keeping up with this little hobby of mine blog :)!

Stay tuned, more coming. Stay safe each and all and have a blessed week. Sherry

Josie Moran products rock!

Josie Moran Argan Creamy Concealer Crayon

I have been on an almost 30 year search for a great undereye concealer that is not to dry, doesn't emphasize crepiness or fine lines and isn't too thick. Over the years I have found a few that I use daily and love. While I was browsing in Sephora I saw this and started to play with it. Ohhhhhhhhh let me tell ya, it is creamy, pigmented and none too thick. The Argan oil definitely make it super moisturized and slides on really beautifully. I purchased Light 2 as I like to get concealers that are a little darker. I don't want reverse raccoon eyes! I was also impressed with the longevity as I was concerned that because of the Argan oil it would slide off. It lasted most of the day and I only had to pat a small amount on to refresh it.

Being a pencil type concealer was another bonus as its easy to carry and fits in the smallest pocket or purse. I am impressed and have used it quite a bit. Josie Maran products are very good and natural.

Do you use her products? What are your thoughts? Would love to know, leave me a comment below. If you have other concealers that you love, be sure and let me know as I will continue my search for the one that gives me the best usage! Have a blessed day! Sherry

Tarte Lipsurgence

The new Lipsurgence by Tarte is in crayon form and moisturizing and easy to use. The colors are great and the pop of color makes the winter seem less drab. The makeup artist at Sephora wanted me to let her know how they lasted and how they felt going on. They are a bit dry at first and then when warmed up they feel very good. The longevity is not as long as I would like but they are fun to reapply! I have always liked the crayon pencil lipsticks and as I have posted before they fit in pockets and small purses well. This color is fun and is called "Natural Beauty".

Try them out and let me know what you think! Sherry

Bobbi's Skincare Luxuries

I love Bobbi Brown products. Daily I use her extra eye repair cream and let it sink in while I am getting ready and before I put my makeup on. It is nice and thick and emollient without being greasy. My eye concealer goes on better and the crepiness is very diminished.

When I was shopping in Nordstrom I happened to see this kit and the fact that it had a full size extra eye repair cream in it sold me immediately. I was there originally to get a new jar of the eye repair cream. It also has a beautiful velvety eye sleeping mask, a tube of clear lip gloss, a jar of extra repair moisturizing balm (heaven!) a jar of extra soothing balm and then of course the jar of extra eye repair cream. It originally sells for $100 (I bet it was a Christmas special) and they had it for $49. Yep, I snatched this up fast.

Bobbi Brown's products are quite pricey and I don't buy many of them, however; when there is a special or a kit that saves money on the overall product list, it is a no brainer to grab it as fast as I can and save some money. My first Bobbi Brown goodie was purchased from one of those TV shopping shows and it was makeup related and had the extra eye repair cream sample in it, thus the falling in love :)!

This kit has the absolute best stuff for winter care as well because the moisturizing balm was fabulous for my elbows.

What are your thoughts about Bobbi Brown? Do you love her skincare as much as I do? Leave me a comment below and as always thank you for stopping by my blog!!! Sherry

The Nude Wear collection from Physician's Formula

Nude Wear Skin Glowing Finish Powder
Nude Wear Skin Glowing Finish Concealer, Highlighter, Touch Up Tool

These were in a beautiful display at my local CVS and I have read a lot of reviews and heard about them on the Physicians Formula FB page. I wasn't so excited about them and then there was a lady talking to me about them at CVS and she pretty much convinced me to try them out. The powder is Medium and unfortunately is not very pigmented. I use it as a finishing powder in my t-zone and to cut down the shine I get from my lovely hot flashes LOL. Fortunately it doesn't cake up. The concealer/brightener is in Nude Glow and as you can see from the swatch it is lovely as a highlighter the most. I use it on the inner corner of my eyes, underneath my eyebrows and it has a pretty sheen without looking overdone or greasy. Overall, the products are not something that I will repurchase but I will use them nevertheless. The packaging is really cute and I am definitely a sucker for cute packaging!

Physician Formula has some great products that reside in my purse and are used daily, these will not.

Have you tried them? Do they work for you well? Leave me your thoughts, would love to know! Sherry

Bite Agave Lip Mask

Sephora is a makeup addicts mecca. I have no doubt that it is my favorite place to shop, browse, play, swatch and learn. Not to mention spend a lot of money! I browse their website often as it is the best way to find out what is new and if a product has hit the shelves yet. Yes I love their reward program and getting a makeup goodie for my birthday is a definite fun perk. So along those lines, I was perusing the website and also had heard rumblings about the new Bite lip mask. This winter has been a humdinger this year and Texas has been schizophrenic to say the least. It is one of the only places that you can get sunburn and frostbite in the same week :)! My lips have suffered badly. My tried and trues have been in my bag, at my bedside, in coat pockets and in the car and are used religiously.

So along came the information about the Bite Agave Lip Mask. I researched it as best I could seeing as it is so new and read a few blog posts on the subject as well. I saw it at Sephora and while I was playing with the Cashmere cremes, there was 2 boxes left of the lip mask. It is $26 and comes in metal feeling tube that can roll down like a tube of toothpaste. It concerned me that it would crack along the seams or middle as it is quite apt to "crinkle". It comes out very thick and you have to really push to get the product out. It has a brownish clear tinge, no scent and no flavor.

Bite says:
This innovative, natural formula smooths, nourishes and moisturizes lips with a bio-active blend of organic agave nectar, jojoba oil, vanilla CO2 extract and triple the amount of antioxidant trans-resveratrol found in red wine. Does not contain gluten or petrolatum.

It is thick and stays on my lips when I put it on before bedtime. Doesn't disappear like some other treatment balms do. The next morning was the true test and I was pleasantly surprised that my lips were hydrated and the cracks in the corner of my mouth were virtually gone!

It is too expensive to carry with me and use throughout the day, however; I will continue to use this as a nighttime treatment and when I feel my lips need some extra care all the way around.

Give it a whirl girls, you will surely notice the difference and although the tube is small for the price I feel it will last for quite some time. Bite beauty is a surprisingly awesome company and their lipsticks and glosses are also safe to use.

Have a blessed week my friends and thanks for stopping by my blog :)! Sherry

Seriously you gotta laugh!

You have to agree Texas is a different crazy kinda fun. Yes if you were to profile Texas it would be all about guns, hunting, fishing, stock car racing, rodeos, big hair.........all the stuff that the TV would have you believe.

Imagine my surprise when I was picking up medications at CVS and was cruising around waiting and in the condom and personal lubrication aisle lo and behold this lube. I laughed so hard because seriously, only in Texas would you find a lube named Gun Oil!

Thought ya'll would get a kick out of this and have a good laugh. Enjoy your day :) Sherry

Guerlain goodie

Guerlain Terracotta 4 Seasons in 04 Blondes

Isn't this absolutely gorgeous? From the hefty soft brown compact that closes firmly to the soft velvet pouch it resides in. Top that off with the smooth buttery texture of the bronzing powder that has 4 shades to mix and match for a tailor made look. This is luxury!

I have been faithfully using the Terracotta Light sheer bronzing powder in Sun Blondes which works better as a blusher than a bronze in my opinion. I had been eyeing the 4 Seasons for awhile and because bronzer can get a little iffy, as in too orange, too muddy or just plain dirty looking, I was a bit skeptical at first.

I swatched it, then actually had it put on at the makeup counter and wore it for the rest of the day and was impressed at the results on my face. My hubby made the comment that it looked like I had a great vacation in a tropical island in the dead of winter!! I was then vascillating on the price. It runs $75 at Sephora.com and my brain was telling me that I could buy at least 3 other products for that amount of money. As you see, in the end it was bought and came home with me :).

Guerlain is well known for their bronzing powders and for their incredible packaging and I have to agree that the hype is well worth it. I also like how they make their products based on your hair and skin color, which takes the guess work and possible waste of money and product out of the equation.

Do you spend a good chunk of money for the brands that totally are worth it? Would you buy the Guerlain bronzing powders? Leave a comment and lets get this conversation happening :). Thanks for stopping by my blog!!! Sherry

My first foray into MAC territory

MAC Strobe Cream
MAC Fix+

Surprise of all surprises, I have never bought or tried MAC before! I have read tons of blog reviews, seen lots of ads and had friends tell me that MAC is awesome. I have been to their counter and have swatched and played with the products but never had my own. The 2 products that intrigued me were the strobe cream and the Fix+ and so I thought I would purchase the small sizes and try them out.

I am very happy with the strobe cream as it is not too "glittery" or made my face shiny like an oil slick. I was impressed when I used it 2 different ways. One was I mixed it with my foundation and it gave a very subtle glow. Secondly I used it as a highlighter and continued to be impressed as it was easy and very pretty. It takes very little and I think the small tube will last me for quite some time. I purchased it for $10 at Nordstrom.

The Fix+ was also something I have heard about for eons. I generally use less expensive setting sprays so was a bit apprehensive to purchase it. I also purchased this at Nordstrom for $10. It worked well and although I was impressed, my less expensive alternatives do just as well in my opinion. The time I will really see if it works is summer time as that is when I have a hard time getting makeup to stay.

There may be more MAC purchases in my future, however; I have so many other brands that keep me happy and they are less expensive and to me are comparable in color and longevity. Who knows, I may become a MAC addict :)!

What are your thoughts on these products? Do tell!!! Sherry
